Chessies
are extremely loyal to their owners. They will usually only

Chesapeakes have many great
traits bred into them. Some of these include: good dispositions,
natural retrieving ability, great noses, extremely birdy.
They show great courage, endurance, and a willingness to
please. They serve as well as a great playmate for children,
companions, and guardians. By no
means are they perfect, but their good traits largely outweigh
their other traits.

As far as I am concerned, you
can find no better hunting dog, nor more devoted companion.
Chessies are often considered stubborn by trainers because
they are hard to force to do things, but if you teach
your dog what you want him/her to do, then he/her will
be glad to do it in order to please you. Sometimes you
have to show them and show them and show them, but when
they learn something they never forget it.
They are loyal to their owners
and their family. They can be protective almost to a
fault if there is a potential threat. Chessies seem to
sense that children need protecting, because they will
do amazing things to make sure their human children are
safe and sound. I will tell you about some of the amazing
things this breed has done to keep their owners safe
and sound.
